I didn't start with menopause
I started with cancer.
For more than 15 years, oncology has taught me to look beyond a single symptom.
A woman's fatigue is not always “just tiredness.” A change in weight is not always about willpower. Poor sleep is not always about having a stressful life.
Anxiety, brain fog, low motivation, changes in libido, altered periods or feeling unlike yourself can sometimes be signals that something deeper is changing.
And then there is midlife. I began seeing how often women were struggling with these changes without understanding what was happening to them. They were being told:
“It's just age.” “It's stress.” “You need to exercise more.” “This is normal.”
But “common” doesn't mean “you have to suffer through it.”
Women deserved a more thoughtful conversation. One that looked at the biology, but also at the person living through it. That became the beginning of Redefine Midlife.
