A word on hormones
Understanding menopause hormone therapy (MHT)
If you've been wondering — “Do I need MHT?” “Is it safe for me?” “What if I've had cancer?” — you're not alone.
MHT can be an important treatment option for some women. But it isn't automatically right — or wrong — for everyone. I don't believe in prescribing hormones simply because a woman is in menopause. I also don't believe women should be frightened away from an evidence-based option without understanding whether it may be appropriate for them. The right conversation comes first.
What I do, and what I don't
Redefine Midlife provides education, health coaching and personalised guidance. MHT prescribing, where appropriate, requires an individual medical assessment and should never be started based solely on information from a website. If you are considering MHT, have a history of cancer, or take other medications, speak with an appropriately qualified clinician.
